DMM Kinisi Harness Expiry guide, label location & simple calculation method
📌 No universal expiry rule – inspection + manufacturer lifespan
Your harness should be retired based on whichever comes first: the manufacturer's recommended service life or visible wear/damage. The DMM Kinisi follows the "plus ten" method.
🔍 No fixed discard date printed — you calculate it from the serial number.
🆚 Treemotion vs. Kinisi – label systems
✔️ Prints a clear discard date directly on product label.
✔️ Easy to read at a glance.
✔️ No fixed discard date
✔️ Uses "manufacture date + 10 years" method. You need to decode the 9-digit serial.
📍 Where to find the DMM Kinisi label

Harness back pad (Velcro)

Peel back the pack pad
👉 How to locate: Peel back the harness pack pad (attached with Velcro) → you will find a label sewn into the harness. Both DMM Kinisi and Treemotion have labels in this area, but the DMM label is smaller — easy to miss at first glance.
🔢 How to read the DMM Kinisi serial code
On the bottom of the label, you will see a nine-digit number. It contains manufacture date + serial info.
• First 2 digits = Year of manufacture
• Next 3 digits = Day of the year (001 to 365)
• Last 4 digits = Serial number
🧮 Calculate expiry date (simple steps)
- Step 1: Read first 5 digits (YYDDD)
- Step 2: Convert YY and DDD into manufacture date (find the exact day)
- Step 3: Add 10 years to that date → Expiry date
If the code with: 241370224W
24 = Year 2024 | 137 = 137th day of the year (16 May, 2024)
Manufacture date = Day 137 of 2024
Then apply "+10 years" → 📌 Expiry date = Day 137 of 2034 (approx. 16 May, 2034)
